Amy’s Army of Cancer Warriors has a passionate commitment to advancing life-saving, groundbreaking cancer research at VCU Massey Cancer Center. We are dedicated to increasing awareness about cancer research and prevention. In addition to funding research, Amy’s Army also works to enhance patient access for treatment. Because Amy’s Army of Cancer Warriors is a registered 501(c)(3) charity, your donations are tax-deductible.
Amy’s Army of Cancer Warriors was developed by a group of friends who coalesced around the idea of promoting cancer prevention and research. It is a grassroots fundraising team that produces events to provide much-needed funds for cancer research and support for the jewel of RVA that is Massey Cancer Center.
Our Programs and Events
We formed Life in Fitness-LIFT, a wellness community for cancer survivors and thrivers in Richmond, Virginia. LIFT’s mission is to build a community of fitness, fun, and camaraderie among RVA cancer survivors. Whether you are healthy and out of treatment for 20 years or just working through it, we welcome you. LIFT provides free and low-cost group fitness activities with an emphasis on enjoying the outdoors. This group was not created as a single race or fundraising event, it provides opportunities for wellness and fellowship for women and men affected by cancer.
Cancer BEE Gone Garden Party will gather friends and supporters in a hidden oasis in the Fan—Rick Bridgforth’s urban garden. Mix and mingle among the flowers while enjoying wine and nibbles, and the company of others who support the mission of eradicating cancer. April 9 (rain date April 10)
Pedal through Petals for our 6th annual event, we are at Maymont. Come on a guided tour of Richmond’s Gardens, on your bike! After the ride, we’ll have a great party. Sunday, May 1.
Climb to Conquer Cancer. Join us at Libby Hill and choose from 26, 44, or 63 miles in the beautiful countryside on your bike. In the end, try your luck at speeding up the hill, to see if you are King of the Mountain or Queen of the Mountain. (Or choose to skip the climb) Sunday, September 11.
We have raised over $100,000 for cancer research, with every penny going to VCU Massey Cancer Center.
