Climb to Conquer Cancer Event September Sunday 22, 2019

There will be a Photog Event Meeting Sunday, September 15th with the Photog Event Manager. The place will be announced at a later date but time will be around 1 PM until 5 PM. You will not have to stay the entire time. Just enough time for us to hang out and discuss logistics for the volunteer position you signed up for and any other concerns you may have, you can come and go as you wish between those four hours.

We would love to have a dozen or more photographers lend a hand to Amy’s Army of Cancer Warriors this year to photograph Climb to Conquer Cancer.  All of the proceeds of the event go to VCU Massey Cancer Center, which is saving lives right here in RVA.  To sign up for a position, go to https://www.bikereg.com/climb2019.  Scroll way down on the page, past the information about how to register to ride, and you will see volunteer positions. 1) Libby Hill –  1 Photog –  Fixed – This photog will only be stationed at Libby Hill Park between 8:30 AM and 2:30 PM in order to catch all three routes going out and back into Richmond and main focus on the Climb of Libby Hill. This photog should have a chair and maybe something to help block the sun while waiting for riders.


2) Jefferson Park – 1 Photog – Fixed – This photog will only be stationed at Jefferson Park between 8:30 AM and 11:50 AM in order to catch all three routes coming by the area. Then they will move over to Libby Hill Park by 12:00 PM and be station there until 2:30 PM. This photog should have a chair and maybe something to help block the sun while waiting for riders.


3) Chimborazo Park – 1 Photog – Fixed – This photog will only be stationed at Chimborazo Park between 8:30 AM and 1:30 PM and then will move their way up to Libby Hill Park. This will allow them to capture riders hopefully of all three routes on there way out of Richmond then on there way back into Richmond. This photog should have a chair and maybe something to help block the sun while waiting for riders.

4) Gillies Creek Park – 1 Photog – Fixed – This photog will be a station at Gillies Creek Park between 8:30 AM and 1:30 PM and then will move their way up to Libby Hill Park. This will allow them to capture riders hopefully of all three routes on there way out of Richmond then on there way back into Richmond. This photog should have a chair and maybe something to help block the sun while waiting for riders.


5) Rocketts Landing – 1 Photog – Fixed – This photog will be a station at Rocketts Landing between 8:30 AM and 1:30 PM and then will move their way up to Libby Hill Park. This will allow them to capture riders hopefully of all three routes on there way out of Richmond then on there way back into Richmond. This photog should have a chair and maybe something to help block the sun while waiting for riders.


6) Richmond National Battlefield Park – 1 Photog – Fixed – This photog will first set up at the Battlefield Park at 8:30 AM and hangout here until 1:30 PM and then will move their way up to Libby Hill Park. This will allow them to capture riders hopefully of all three routes on there way out of Richmond then on there way back into Richmond. This photog should have a chair and maybe something to help block the sun while waiting for riders. 


7) Osborne Park and Boat Landing – 1 Photog – Fixed- This photog will first set up at the  Osborne Park and Boat Landing at 8:30 AM and hangout here until 1:30 PM and then will move their way up to Libby Hill Park. This will allow them to capture riders hopefully of all three routes on there way out of Richmond then on there way back into Richmond. This photog should have a chair and maybe something to help block the sun while waiting for riders. 


8) Deep Bottom Creek Park – 1 Photog – Fixed – This photog will first set up at the Deep Bottom Creek Park at 8:30 AM and hangout here until 1:30 PM and then will move their way up to Libby Hill Park. This will allow them to capture riders hopefully of all three routes on there way out of Richmond then on there way back into Richmond. This photog should have a chair and maybe something to help block the sun while waiting for riders. 

9) Cherokee Tribe Museum – 1 Photog – Fixed – This photog will first set up at the Deep Bottom Creek Park at 8:30 AM and hangout here until 1:30 PM and then will move their way up to Libby Hill Park. This will allow them to capture riders hopefully of all three routes on there way out of Richmond then on there way back into Richmond. This photog should have a chair and maybe something to help block the sun while waiting for riders. 

10) Roaming Photogs – 2 Photogs –  Roamers –These photogs will have the responsibility of helping set up any aid stations and reporting directly to the photog manager. They will need to be on Libby Hill Site at 7:00 AM to get breakfast coffee and the first round of instructions which will be to set up any aid stations that need an extra hand and after that, these two positions will roam on either side of the course one will be based on the Richmond side and the other will be based on the Varina side. These roamers will be vital to checking in on our Fixed photogs and allow for breaks and lunchtimes to all the fixed photographers. These 2 photogs will need a vehicle that they can use to run the course.

12) Standby Photogs – 2 Photogs – Standbys –  We will have to backup slots for anyone who is interested in filling a spot that becomes vacant for unforeseen reasons. Our hope is to have a 24-hour notice from the photog that has to drop out of the event in order to give you the backup photog enough time to get your gear and schedule in order.

HOW WE HANDLE THE PHOTOG IMAGES

We are only asking for a range of your top 25 up to no more than 50 images. I will ask you to pick your top ten favorite images and those ten will be displayed in an individual credited gallery for each photographer and the rest will be placed in a Google Photo Album. Pretty much the same treatment as the last Pedal through Petals event. We can also place your company brand logo on the Sponsors page as well if you give us the information asap. Your logo will be placed under the Other Awesome Sponsor category. We want to support you all as much as you all our supporting the cause. Thank you for your time and work.
